I had hoped that the Piper remaster would do some of the work, of course, but we all know what happened there...23 Daveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06341570374606412042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499949614093219266.post-3508765133801227182008-09-09T09:28:00.000+01:002008-09-09T09:28:00.000+01:00I hate to be both a know-all and a party-deflater,...I hate to be both a know-all and a party-deflater, but the official word is that there really isn't much Syd material worth bothering with in the archives. At least not in terms of solo stuff - Rhamadam does sound interesting (if possibly overlong), but apparently Millionaire is just a load of unfinished takes, the tape of Living Alone is lost, and the 1974 sessions wouldn't be considered releaseable by any sane person (I've heard a bit of it, and it really does make for depressing listening).

However, Floyd-wise there's still an unused take of Chapter 24 knocking about (She Was A Millionaire was presumably nowhere to be found when they did the Piper Special Edition), and a couple of session tapes from late 1967, including In The Beechwoods, an eleven minute instrumental (that's the one that about ninety seconds of has been around on bootlegs for years), and a sound collage called 'John Latham'. Saucerful Special Edition now, please!!Tim Worthingtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05135653945070797299noreply@blogger.com
