This fact was announced by Jamie Anderson, the son of the late Gerry, the person behind Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds and many other things in his blog on the work of his late father.Graham Summershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12334926328631681738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499949614093219266.post-20008313930584894502021-06-09T07:17:51.673+01:002021-06-09T07:17:51.673+01:00 I heard this version of Fireball XL-5 for the fi... I heard this version of Fireball XL-5 for the first time just the other day. It was a very well done cover of the original theme song and the Kadettes even added another couple of verses that made their version of the song very different compared to the many other remakes by other artists.
I would love to see the Kadettes version of the sheet music for Fireball XL-5 with the lyrics! It would be a blast! If anybody can possibly share any information with respect to the lyrics for this version, it would be very much appreciated!
Flyboy25https://www.blogger.com/profile/16183667792669121249noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499949614093219266.post-12653895869472914612020-07-18T15:16:12.306+01:002020-07-18T15:16:12.306+01:00Kadettes were in fact four very talented public-sc...Kadettes were in fact four very talented public-schoolies in their very early twenties: Pete Griffiths, Marylou Sturridge, Veronica Hudson and Chris Tomkinson. The boys played the keys and girls sang and danced: Fireball XL5 was in fact their only cover (and their only commercial release). Kadettes were managed by Crispin Buxton, who became a well-known location manager on movies such as The Last King of Scotland, and a producer/director on The Souvenir. He owns and runs The Norfolk Film Company, headquartered in Trunch, Norfolk. The Kadettes generated a lot of original material, written by Griffiths and Tomkinson and powered by Griffiths' trademark customised Yamaha sounds,in the synthpop genre, with some remarkably prescient and pithy lyrics. The band played several small (often private, at gallery openings, nightclub gigs like The Embassy and the Kensington Rooftop) London gigs in 1981 and 1982. All the material survives, but remains in a private collection.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8499949614093219266.post-81381314004187311362019-11-08T21:37:04.546+00:002019-11-08T21:37:04.546+00:00A superb version of Fireball XL5, thanks for shari...A superb version of Fireball XL5, thanks for sharing!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
